About Quantum Cascade Lasers

Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) represent a fundamentally new class of semiconductor lasers that are capable of generating light in the mid- to longwave infrared portions of the spectrum, generally between 4 and 12 microns. Having no serious competition from other solid state light sources in this spectral window in wavelength agility, optical power, and size/weight, QCLs further existing applications and enable new ones in fields as diverse as spectroscopy, free space optical communications, and directed infrared countermeasures and other security areas. Today, Pranalytica is a vertically integrated QCL company, specializing in high power QCL devices and systems. For many applications, output power is the main figure of merit. To address this need, Pranalytica begins with its own patented as well as proprietary QCL designs that specifically target high power, high temperature operation. Our QCLs are fabricated in state-of-the-art facilities using the best available technologies. Pranalytica then applies its patented and proprietary packaging and thermal management solutions to fully extract the available device performance and to provide well-characterized and reliable products that can be easily integrated into real world systems. Pranalytica 1101-CW series are high-power, continuous wave (CW), midwave infrared laser systems.

1101-CW High power CW model

Model 1101-CW is a high power, continuous wave, air-cooled midwave infrared laser system. It provides up to >4.0 W of continuous wave, room temperature (CW/RT) optical power depending on wavelengths from 3.7 μm to >12 μm. The system operates at room temperature, requiring no external chillers. It is available as a complete system consisting of the laser head (air-cooled) and matched power supply, ready to be turned on in customer’s location.

1101-CW-SF High power single frequency model

Model 1101-CW-SF is a single frequency high power, continuous wave, air-cooled midwave infrared laser system that provides up to 1.0 W of continuous wave, room temperature (CW/RT) optical power (wavelength dependent) at a customer selected wavelength with an output linewidth of <1 nm. The system operates at room temperature, requiring no external chillers. It is available as a complete system consisting of the laser head (air-cooled) and matched power supply, ready to be turned on in customer’s location.

MultiLux-SW-MW1-MW2-CW Multiple wavelength SWIR/MWIR laser system

Model MultiLux-SW-MW1-MW2-CW is a high brightness, high power multiple wavelength laser system that provide multiwatt of continuous wave room temperature power output at one short wavelength infrared (SWIR) and two midwave infrared (MWIR) wavelengths. The three laser outputs are collinear, collimated and have very low M2. The system provides excellent beam quality needed for a variety of defense and homeland security applications.
